NFWF Longleaf Stewardship Fund 2013 Request for Pre-proposals

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), in partnership with Southern Company, the USDA Forest Service, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Department of Defense, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, is pleased to announce the availability of the Longleaf Stewardship Fund 2013 Request for Pre-proposals (RFP).

The Longleaf Stewardship Fund supports accelerated restoration of the longleaf pine ecosystem through collaborative and result-oriented actions that contribute to the restoration goals in the Range-Wide Conservation Plan for Longleaf Pine, as part of the America's Longleaf Restoration Initiative.

The funding partners are engaged in longleaf restoration activities because they share a goal of restoring and protecting this iconic and diverse ecosystem that once dominated the Southeast. The partners are committed to improving forest health, engaging and supporting private landowners, protecting and restoring wildlife, and maintaining the military mission of installations.

This coming year, the partners anticipate awarding approximately $2.5 -$3.5 million for projects within the historical longleaf range in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

Please closely review the RFP available at for funding priorities, competitive criteria, and eligibility guidelines. Pre-proposals must be submitted by midnight (CST) on November 13, 2012 via NFWF’s online application system in order to be considered.
